Congratulations to Colin Inglis, Emerald Valley GC, for winning the 2018 OPGA Chapter Championship and Assistants Championship today at Shadow Hills CC in Junction City, Oregon. Colin shot rounds of 65-72=137 (-7 under). Colin was off to a hot start in the morning shotgun with a bogey free round that showcased 7 birdies. In the afternoon, the sun came out and the golf course proved to play more challenging and his round of 72 was enough to win by 3 over Dan Ostrin, Spring Hill GC in the Championship Division and by 4 shots over John Cassidy, Arrowhead GC, in the Assistants Division.
In the Senior division, Steve Bowen, Illahe Hills CC, shot rounds of 75-72=147 and was able to edge Scott Krieger, Broadmoor GC, by 1 shot. Steve Bowen was the only player in the Senior Division to shoot even par as the golf course firmed up in the afternoon.
Ted Westling, Stone Creek GC, won the Legends Division over Fred Haney in a 2 hole sudden death playoff. Ted and Fred both shot 74, and Ted was able make a birdie on the 2nd playoff hole to capture his second straight Legends Division title.
